Safe, Clean Streets

Pinoy Life

I keep telling my family and friends back home how amazed I was with Japan’s safe and clean streets. However, it’s difficult to describe just how.

This afternoon, I saw exactly what I meant. This baby romped alone in the street for at least 15 minutes before it occurred to me that I should get my camera.

Though I never once saw her mother the whole time, I'm sure the baby made it home safe.

Dito naman napansin ko

lahat ng mga parents sa loob ng neighborhood e parang mga parents din ng lahat ng bata. Naghihiraman ng anak, kapag me nanay na busy yung anak niya kukunin nung ibang nanay. You see parents going to the supermarket with their children plus their neighbors' children.

So hindi talaga sila magsusumbungan. If a baby is in any danger, you will probably see several mothers rushing out from nowhere to save the child. You may not see them, but they're all watching out.

Huli yan!

Ibang-iba dito sa 'merika: magsusumbong ang kapit-bahay, pakikialaman ng pulis at ititira yung bata sa foster home, huhulihin at ikukulung ang magulang for alleged "neglect and child endangerment."
